About Me

A

I am a freelance journalist based in India. I write about stories that matter but often fail to find space in mainstream media. Development, politics, rural India, climate change, and finance are the beats that interest me the most. From time to time, I also dig deeper to produce long-form reports and serious investigative pieces.

My journey into journalism wasn’t planned.

In the beginning, I never imagined myself as a journalist. I wanted to be a photographer. Nature, wildlife, portraits, and street photography were more than interests—they were like a cup of chai or cold coffee to me, offering a sense of comfort and clarity that only passion can bring.

Like most parents, mine hoped I would pursue engineering or join the Air Force. My father, however, gave me a simple condition: do whatever you want, but earn a degree. Academically, I had always performed well—often securing first or second position in class and being awarded Student of the Year during my school days—so higher education was non-negotiable.

While searching for courses that would allow me to continue photography alongside academics, I discovered photojournalism. It felt like the perfect balance: a degree in journalism and the freedom to work with a camera. I enrolled with that goal in mind.

But once my studies began, everything changed.

As I learned more about journalism, I started understanding its power and responsibility in today’s world. The classroom discussions, fieldwork, and exposure to real stories gradually shifted my focus. My interest moved beyond the lens—from capturing moments to questioning systems, understanding people, and telling stories that demand attention. That was the turning point. Photojournalism led me to journalism, and journalism became my purpose.

Today, I work as an independent digital storyteller through my blog—documenting overlooked realities, questioning narratives, and amplifying voices that often remain unheard.

I hope my work contributes, even in a small way, to awareness, accountability, and change.
